Why we built TaxKit
Independent work comes with enough decisions already. A tax estimate, invoice, or pricing question should not require an account, a complicated spreadsheet, or a search through jargon. TaxKit brings a set of practical browser-based tools and plain-English guides together in one place.
Our goal is to make the arithmetic easier to understand, not to make business or tax decisions on your behalf. We show the assumptions behind our calculators and explain where they stop. When the rules or facts are complex, a qualified professional and current official guidance are the right next step.
Who we serve
TaxKit is designed for freelancers, solo operators, and small-business owners who want a clearer first look at everyday numbers. Our tools are free and do not require a sign-up. Some tools keep entries in your browser so you can work without sending calculator data to our servers.
We do not claim that a calculator output is suitable for every jurisdiction, filing status, business structure, or accounting method. We value clarity over false certainty and encourage users to verify important results.
How the site is supported
The site may display advertising after approval by an advertising provider. Advertising does not change calculator formulas or editorial decisions. Ads are visually separated from interactive controls, and we do not ask users to click them.
TaxKit is an independent educational resource. It is not a law firm, accounting firm, lender, or government agency, and use of the site does not create a professional relationship.
